Program participants contribute about 20 – 25 hours of directed service a week. Our primary focus is in the garden and the langar program (community meals). We also regularly help at Yogi Bhajan ranch and with the Food4Kids children’s meal program.

more about Our Programs

Guru Amar Das Langar Garden

Get your hands in the dirt! There’s nothing more healing and invigorating than working with the soil. We are restoring long-dormant land and bringing it back to fertile soil that will provide produce for the Guru’s Langar and feed the surrounding community: includes weeding, irrigation, seeding, building hoop houses and solar drying racks, harvesting, food storage prep and more.

Hacienda de Guru Ram Das (Langar Kitchen, Ashram Grounds, Ranch)

Includes langar preparation and clean up, maintenance of walking path, planting and weeding on the grounds, painting and minor repairs, and more.

Daily Karma Yoga

Maintaining a graceful living space includes bathroom and kitchen clean up, vacuuming, dusting and laundry.

Other Opportunities to Serve

  • Akhand Path – Participate in the weekly unbroken reading of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, which has been serving the consciousness of this community since 1971.
  • Ishnaan Seva – A beautiful tradition of washing the floors of the Gurdwara; Sundays from 6:30am until we’re done.
  • Community – Volunteer for projects in the community. There’s always work to be done!
