About the Program
Seva Sadhana is a lifestyle immersion program of Hacienda de Guru Ram Das Ashram. Our first living space for guests (called sevadars) was completed August 2016; with the completion we began offering the opportunity for people to come and experience Ashram living and be a part of the living legacy of Yogi Bhajan.
The program welcomes people of all backgrounds to come from all over the world to live, study, and practice the healthy, happy, holy (3HO) lifestyle – featuring the core elements of selfless service (seva), daily practice (sadhana), and community (sangat).
Participants start the day with group aquarian sadhana at 3:40am and contribute 20 – 25 hours of directed Ashram seva a week. Sevadars prepare and share vegetarian meals together, have access at least four afternoon / evening yoga classes a week, and are offered weekly workshops focused on 3HO lifestyle, the technology of Kundalini Yoga, and Sikh Dharma.
The program brings fresh energy to the Ashram and is a driving force of expansion in sharing the teachings and legacy left by Yogi Bhajan.

About Hacienda de Guru Ram Das Ashram
Hacienda de Guru Ram Das (HGRD) is a spiritual community of about 350 people living in Northern New Mexico just outside the City of Española. While many of the members of our community practice Sikh and 3HO lifestyles, our ashram welcomes all faiths in the philosophy that an ashram is a place where spiritual seekers join together to study, grow and excel.
The ashram was founded by Yogi Bhajan in 1970, and he told us from the earliest days that people are called to live here because they have a mission to serve humanity. He named it the Mother Ashram with the vision of it being place where people could come to experience spiritual growth and individual, community, and planetary healing.

Our story is inspired by the land, and the vision that the renewal of the land could become a renewal of the Ashram.
People long to come here; this land longs to serve all who come. What began as a movement to bring food security to the ashram, has grown into a vision for healthy soil providing food for healthy community meals that feed not only our own community but the surrounding area as well.
This land is the living legacy of Yogi Bhajan; he often said that this land can heal. When you serve this land, you bring a healing not just to yourself but you also help serve the thousands of people who come here for self-healing and personal growth.
Our vision is to provide a place for people to come and serve the land and the legacy. Create a solid foundation for your practice or strengthen your existing practice. And learn what it means to live in sangat. The program is called Seva Sadhana and it allows people to live in the sangat, develop their personal practice, and serve the community garden while planting seeds of hope within their own spirits.
